As is the case with most volunteer organisations, The Band relies on financial support from the community. After a number of years where the ongoing viability of the band was in jeopardy (members were personally covering expenses like power), the community has rallied behind the organisation to ensure the band will continue to provide its services for many years to come.
Along with the securing of an ongoing sponsorship with Dyson’s IGA (2015 to 2019), the band has undertaken regular fundraising activities such as Bunnings BBQ days, street raffles, and the grateful acceptance of donations by community organisations when the band supports events.
The support shown by the Numurkah Community has been exceptional during the last 12 months, with financial donations from the Numurkah Singers, the Commitments Tribute Band, Numurkah Rotary & Mr Siegfried Seiter.
Mr Seiter’s contribution allowed the band to undertake restoration of an Eb Bass which had been unplayable for some years. Further Mr Seiter and his extended family, held a fundraising event for the band which was highly successful and contributed to allowing the band to undertake a greater number of activities throughout the year.
